Industrial Horizontal Fluid Bed Dryer — Continuous Horizontal Fluidized Bed Drying for Granular Materials
Key Attributes
Product Summary
The Horizontal Fluid Bed Dryer is a continuous drying equipment that brings material into a boiling state within a horizontal fluidized bed for drying. Unlike vertical batch fluid bed dryers, the horizontal fluid bed dryer uses continuous feed and discharge.

Material is continuously fed into the bed of the horizontal fluid bed dryer from the feed end. Filtered and heated hot air is supplied uniformly upward from the bottom plenum through the distribution plate (perforated plate), passing through the material layer and bringing it into a fluidized boiling state. In the boiling state, material moves continuously along the horizontal direction from the feed end to the discharge end (movement speed and residence time can be controlled by adjusting the height difference between feed and discharge ends, air volume, and internal baffles). During movement, material particles come into full contact with hot air, moisture evaporates rapidly, and drying is completed. Moist air is discharged from the top exhaust outlet and treated by a dust removal system before emission. Dried material is continuously discharged from the discharge end. Some models feature partition baffles inside the bed, dividing the fluidized bed into multiple independent temperature-control zones for staged drying and cooling.
- The bed body adopts a horizontal rectangular structure, consisting of an upper box (expansion/exhaust section), middle box (boiling/drying section) and lower box (plenum/air inlet section). The upper box has a larger cross-sectional area than the middle box to reduce air velocity and minimize fine powder entrainment;
- The distribution plate (perforated plate) features a special perforated design (fish-scale, slotted, or conical holes) ensuring uniform hot air distribution, stable fluidization, and prevention of material leakage and channeling; the plate is removable for cleaning and product changeover;
- Partition baffles can be installed inside the bed to divide the fluidized bed into multiple independent zones, each with independently controlled air volume and temperature for staged drying (e.g., high-temperature zone, medium-temperature zone, cooling zone) to meet different drying process requirements;
- The feed end can be equipped with a vibrating feeder or screw feeder to ensure uniform and continuous feeding; the discharge end features an adjustable-height overflow weir or discharge valve to control bed height and material residence time;
- The hot air system consists of filter, heater and supply fan; the exhaust system consists of induced draft fan, cyclone separator and bag filter;
- Fully enclosed construction with internal/external mirror polishing (pharmaceutical grade) or matte finish (chemical grade), no dead corners, facilitating easy cleaning;
- PLC + touch screen control enables automatic adjustment of temperature, air volume and feed speed for stable continuous production.
- Continuous production with high output and simple operation, suitable for large-scale industrial production;
- Material in boiling state has full contact with hot air, achieving high heat and mass transfer efficiency, fast drying speed and high thermal efficiency (50% to 70%);
- Uniform temperature — material mixes vigorously within the bed without local overheating, suitable for heat-sensitive materials;
- Segmented temperature control allows setting optimal temperatures for different drying stages based on material characteristics, ensuring product quality;
- Material residence time can be controlled by adjusting overflow weir height, air volume and baffle position to suit different materials;
- Fully enclosed operation with no dust emission and clean operating environment;
- Stable operation, low maintenance and long service life.
- Widely used in chemical (tablet granules, boric acid, borax, hydroquinone, maleic acid, catalysts, plastic resins, citric acid, oxalic acid, sodium sulfate, ammonium chloride), pharmaceutical (API granules, herbal granules, tablet granules, pills, pharmaceutical excipient granules), food (grains, seeds, dehydrated vegetables, seasonings, milk powder, glucose, chicken essence, MSG, sugar, salt), building materials and minerals (mineral sand, quartz sand, ceramsite, glass powder, bentonite, kaolin, refractory granules), feed and agrochemical (feed granules, fertilizer granules, pesticide granules, compound fertilizer, urea, slow-release fertilizer) industries for continuous drying of granular materials.
